Purchases & Refunds
At the moment, we use eway to process credit card payments securely. If you have any difficulties with the system, let us know at support@qldwriters.org.au.
If you would like to arrange a refund, get in touch with us at support@qldwriters.org.au.
When you get to the checkout on this site, the page will prompt you for a discount coupon code. Enter the text there and your discount will apply instantly.
Ensure you are logged into the web site, then head to your profile page Your purchased courses should be accessible from there. Following the link to your course, and scroll down the course page to view lessons.
At the moment, the purchase confirmation page and email don't include a direct link to your course. This is a technical issue we're hoping to address in future updates to the site.
Definitely. When you first purchase you should receive two emails from us: one a receipt for payment, the other a welcome message with a few additional details.
We have noticed these messages frequently get picked up by overzealous spam filters, most likely the reason you haven't received anything.
The best advice we can offer is to take a look at your junk mail folder, then ensure our email address support@qldwriters.org.au is added to your safe senders list.
Courses
You will need to create a user account to participate in the Online Learning Centre. Simply go to the top right-hand corner of the window and click 'register'. Then just follow the prompts! Once you've done that, you can select the course you're interested in and follow the purchase link. Self-guided courses are available as soon as your payment has been completed. Tutor-led courses begin on specified start-dates, and you will sign up in advance.
Self-Guided Courses
Self-guided courses are designed to be completed individually and completed at a pace you are comfortable with. There is no group-work involved in a self-guided course.
Tutor-led Courses
While there is no group-work as such in tutor-led courses, you will be encouraged to interact and share your work with your tutor and fellow participants at various stages in the course. This will be done in a dedicated, private Facebook group. Participation in these interactions is voluntary, but strongly recommended to get the most out of these courses.

Tutor-led courses begin and end at certain times, much like an in-person course would. Having an established writer for a tutor is a great way to get professional, experienced feedback on your work. Unfortunately, we can’t keep tutors on courses permanently. But don’t worry – we run most of our tutor-led courses at least once a year. Pick up a copy of the Queensland Writers Centre program, or check on the course information page, to see when upcoming courses are scheduled.
Profiles & Account Help
Sorry, you cannot use your QWC member login to access this site.
QWC runs its online courses on a separate website from the main QWC website. Because of this, you will need to create a new user account. This is something we are working to address in future updates.
At the moment, usernames are restricted to lowercase letters and numerals only. This is a technical limitation of the platform we are using.
We are looking into making these requirements less restrictive in future updates.
You can not change your username after you have created your login. However, you can change your display name. To do this, click on the 'profile' button in the upper right-hand corner of the window. This will take you to your user profile page. From here, click 'settings'. Under the 'basic information' tab, you will be able to enter your first and last name, and your nickname. You can then set how you want your display name to appear. You may need to update and refresh the page for the system to register new entries in the name fields.
If you have forgotten your username, don't worry. You can log in using your email address.
To change your password, click on the 'profile' button in the upper right-hand corner of the window. This will take you to your user profile page. From here, click 'settings', and then 'change password'. From here you can enter your new password. Once you're finished, click update. Try to include numerals, symbols, capital letters and lower-case letters in your password.
